Wood, magnetic tape, reproducing head
This instrument produces sound by taking sections of magnetic tape – which have been removed from plastic cassettes and stuck onto wooden planks – and sliding them back and forth over playback, or reproducing, heads – which have been taken out of cassette players. You can see lots of ‘samples’ stuck on different sized pieces of wood, tangled or hanging down. Find the samples you enjoy and experiment by sliding them over the tape head in the direction given by the arrow. If the sound is too small, or backwards, flip the tape and try again.

無数にあるカセットテープのサンプルを再生して演奏する楽器。木の板に貼り付けられたテープサンプルや、周りに散りばめられているテープサンプルを、真ん中のテープ再生ヘッドにスライドさせて音を出します。自分のお気に入りのサンプルを探して、再生による演奏を楽しめます。サンプルは長い板や短い板に貼ってあるもの、くしゃくしゃになっているものから垂れ下がってるものなどたくさんあります。
